Blue is not a symbol, it is presence: it is the artist himself, inseparable from the work. Within it dwell love, desire, dream, the unconscious, and also the awareness of death. To create in blue is to fertilize the canvas as one generates life, resisting emptiness and oblivion. In Solano’s thought, blue does not represent but embodies; it is absolute power, the rhythm of existence, the most radical form of being and of remaining in the world.
